So I just heard that Steven Tyler is leaving or has left Aerosmith and Josh Todd from Buckcherry is being considered as a replacement. And in other news, guitarist John Frusciante has officially left Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Todd makes sense if they're trying to continue without Tyler, but I'm not a fan of the situation in general. They apparently offered the spot to Lenny Kravitz, who respectfully declined. I'm haven't been into any of Aerosmith's recent stuff, so it wouldn't bother me if they were calling it a day, but I would prefer that their legacy end here instead of continuing on to tarnish my memories of one of the biggest bands of my day.
I'm not upset about Frusciante's departure from RHCP, and even think they could be better off without him. But then, it is hard to imagine them without that sound.
That is all.Current Mood: working Current Music: Del The Funky Homosapien - 'Funk Man'

So I don't know how many people in this group live in the UK like myself but I was wondering what everybodies thoughts are on the facebook campaign to get Rage Against the Machine's single Killing in the Name to top of the charts this week (making it the Christmas number one).
For those of you not aware what's happening is that for around four years (if memory serves me right) the X factor tv show has finished close to Christmas guaranteeing the winner the number one spot. This year out of nowhere a group has been started through facebook that has grown incredibly fast and now holds around 760,000 members and have been encouraging downloads of the song to keep X factor off the top spot.
Currently killing in the name is 10% ahead of Joe McElderry's cover of The Climb (Miley Cyrus) but this may be about to change as the song gets released on CD tomorrow, whichever song that is at the top of the charts on Saturday 19th will be declared this years number one.
Simon Cowell of X factor has described the campaign as "cynical" but I was wondering if anybody else had any views regarding it...

I saw Band of Skulls in Portland and I am so blissed out on this song right now! I almost hit some unsuspecting granny on my way to work this morning due to my rocking out, but granny is alive and well (I think) and I'm still rocking out!

Costa Mesa, CA-December 15, 2009- Industree Music Network, Inc., a new web-based company that centers around Social Music Sharing™, an innovative online music distribution and monetization platform, launches. Social Music Sharing™ combines social networking, music, and the ability for fans to share in the artists' album sales that they directly and indirectly help generate.
Social Music Sharing™ takes the most powerful component from traditional network-marketing based business models, the ability for consumers to share in the sales generated by the people they directly and indirectly invite into the network, and leaves the sign-up fees, purchase requirements, and aggressive sales tactics behind.
Industree stands firmly by the "share the wealth" philosophy; 40-50 per cent of every album sale is shared with the fans and five per cent of every sale is donated to charity.
Industree employs an "Honor System" pricing structure, which is based on the fans' honest opinion of the music that they buy. Fans ultimately name their own price for the music that they buy, and then the person who initially invited them, as well as that person's "Roots," all share in the profits. |

My favourite song is 'Dancing' by Elisa
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nZgNUTBnmAw
The song is the best and the worst song I ever heard. My heart breaks everytime I hear it, but still I can't stop listening to this song.
Have you heard it? What do you think about it?
Would like to her others meanings about the song :)

I posted a few days ago about 'I Dreamed A Dream: The Susan Boyle Story' that TV Guide is airing tonight at 8. Just wanted to follow that up with this sneak peek I just saw from it, in which Susan sings 'Cry Me A River'. So beautiful! Isn't her voice angelic?!

Since the year is almost complete, I've been looking through all of the albums that I've checked out this year and decided to list my Top-15. my list & review of the best of 2009 is here
Also, since this marks the end of the decade, I tried to figure out my 'best of the decade' list. This was a bit harder, as I'm sure I've forgotten many which were released in the decade. My Top 50 of the decade
